1. Service description
Seattle Video Transfer provides local video transfer services for customer-provided analog and digital videotapes. Supported formats may include VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, MiniDV, and HDV. Services generally include transferring playable tape content to digital video files.
2. Local drop-off service
This is a local Seattle-area drop-off and pickup service by appointment only. Customers should not drop off media without a confirmed appointment.
3. Customer ownership and permission
By submitting tapes for transfer, the customer confirms that they own the recordings or have permission from the rights holder to have the recordings copied. The service is intended for home movies, personal recordings, family archives, and customer-owned material.
4. Tape condition and transfer results
Videotapes can degrade over time. Some tapes may be blank, damaged, moldy, broken, poorly recorded, or otherwise unplayable. Reasonable care is used when handling customer media, but successful transfer or improvement is not guaranteed.
5. No restoration guarantee
Unless separately agreed in writing, the service is a transfer service only. It does not include advanced restoration, repair, color correction, audio repair, editing, highlight reels, or chaptering.
6. Pricing and payment
Prices listed on the website may vary based on tape length, tape condition, rush requests, storage media, or additional services. Payment is due before or at delivery unless otherwise agreed.
7. Digital file delivery
Digital files may be delivered by secure download link, customer-provided USB drive, or business-provided USB drive. Download links may expire. Customers are responsible for downloading, saving, and backing up digital files.
8. Privacy
Customer media will not be shared, published, sold, or used for marketing without permission. Portions of footage may be viewed or monitored as needed to perform transfer and quality-check services.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability for any claim related to services is limited to the amount paid by the customer for the affected service.
